HELPING OTHERS IN NEED
This
time of year is always lots of fun as families come
together to share the holidays. As booster club supporters
we each understand the importance of helping better
the opportunities for our kids. During this holiday
I would like to encourage each of you to encourage your
booster clubs to help make a difference in the live
of someone in need. It may be a family who has lost
everything in a recent fire or a young boy or girl challenged
with an illness. It doesn't really matter who or why,
just that we each take the time to reach out to someone
in need.
Make
a difference in their lives and I guarantee it will
make a positive difference in yours.
Happy
Boostering.

Dear Booster,
Quick question...our booster club needs to raise about
$12,000 but don't know really what kind of program we
should consider as we don't have any fundraising experience.
We don't want to have to run multiple fundraiser's so
can you help us figure out how we choose a program?
Carol
D.
Aviant Cheer Boosters
Dear
Carol,
Choosing
the right fundraising program is much more than just
finding a program that allows you the ability to raise
the $12K. Your groups size, level of parent support,
background and demographic location all play into the
overall success with any fundraiser. NABCA helps booster
clubs daily to determine what fundraiser best fits their
group and their goals. Click on the following link and
complete the fundraising questionnaire. A qualified
fundraising coach will personally help your group determine
what program fits. http://www.boosterclubs.org/fundraising_corner/booster_fundraising_questionnaire.php
Send
us your Dear Booster.... article and we will select
one each month to share with the readers of Booster
Trends. To submit your email send to: dearbooster@boostercentral.org.

Santa Letter
Letter From Santa: Offer a personalized 'Letter from
Santa' written on colorful holiday stationery and matching
envelopes. Children just love receiving their own mail...
especially from someone as magical as Santa! Compose
one or more standard letters using a standard word processing
program. See Examples Below. Develop an order form for
personalization to be provided by purchaser. This could
include the child's name, age, gender, hometown, address,
good deed, accomplishment, grade in school, name and
age of siblings, name of pet, etc.
Purchase colorful holiday stationary. Keep the quantity
low until you see how sales are going. Colorful Christmas
stamps are also a must!
Take orders in advance. Get payment with the order.
Set a cut-off date to make sure the letters will be
delivered timely.
Pick the city you want the letter to be postmarked from
and contact the postmaster there to make sure that they
will open your bundle of letters and re-mail them for
you. Some choices of cities could be North Pole, AK;
Santa Claus, GA; Reindeer, KY; Christmas, FL, etc. You
get the idea.
Set a price. Similar letters are available from a number
of sources for $4.00 to $10.00. Since you are doing
this as a fundraiser, your supporters will probably
be generous but keep the price reasonable enough to
generate good volume. This is not a big money maker
but it can be fun.

FACT |
|
 |
Booster Factoid of the month-
There are only a few wide-scale
studies that examine the size and distribution of
voluntary contributions to public schools. Most contributions
to public schools flow through non-profit organizations
with tax-exempt status, and these organizations are
required to report their revenues and expenses to
the state and federal government.
Quote
of the month-
“We're so engaged in doing
things to achieve purposes of outer value that we
forget that the inner value, the rapture that is associated
with being alive, is what it's all about.”
