You
have a tremendous amount of knowledge and
experience that is of great value so make
sure to let the incoming group know you
are available to offer some guidance when
they need the support.
Welcome
to the TEAM!
I would now like to turn my attention to
those of you who for the first time have
just been elected as an executive officer
of your booster club. I would like to congratulate
you on joining the ranks of more than a

VENDOR OF THE MONTH |
| MAKE
FUNDRAISING EASIER THAN EVER
WITH
YOUR OWN, TURNKEY LOYALTY PROGRAM
--- FREE FROM TRICORDIA
What
if you could raise necessary
funds without having to sell
more wrapping paper, candy bars,
magazines…or wash cars
or save box tops? Tricordia
Partnerships For Giving offers
this “dream come true”
fundraising program whereby
your school/school group can
essentially “earn money
in your sleep”….every
day, all year long. And it’s
entirely free of charge. Schools
in a couple of pilot states
have already started adapting
this new program----and it’s
now available to everyone everywhere.
The
Tricordia program is a system….an
engine….which has only
recently been made possible
as a result of special technology
developed by Tricordia. It’s
a new kind of partnership where
consumers, companies and causes
connect to support each other----and
everybody wins. It turns everyday
purchases into much needed funding----without
costing anything extra….not
even a penny.
It’s
Simple: Every
time one of your supporters
(parents, friends, grandparents,
etc…..anyone who’s
registered with the program)
uses their registered credit/debit
card (don’t
worry….it’s very
safe) at participating retailers,
the retailer will contribute
a portion of that purchase to
the supporter’s favorite
school/school group in appreciation
of their business.
It’s
Automatic: Tricordia
recognizes a qualifying purchase
every time a member supporter
uses their registered credit/debit
card (it only takes a few minutes
to enroll) and rebates a percentage
of each sale to the supporter’s
favorite school/school group.
It’s
Free: No cost
to join or annual fees. Members
keep all of their shopping benefits
(air miles, coupons, reward
points, discounts, etc.).
There
are hundreds of retailers across
a broad range of categories,
at thousands of locations, who
support the consumers that support
them. As a result, everyday
purchases are worth more than
the money paid, because they
also generate money for your
school/school group. Anyone
who shops without enrolling
in the program is leaving money
behind that could benefit your
school/school group.
In
addition to having your very
own loyalty program, free of
charge, the Tricordia program
also enables you to have: (1)
A free customized web site,
and (2) Free access to an email
recruiting and database building
tool.
Tricordia
has the experience----and they
can get you started. They will
work with you to make your program
as turnkey as possible, by providing
you prototype and tailorable
flyers, brochures, emails, etc.
You
can check out these and other
vendors on BoosterWorld
or send me an email if you have
any questions: jevans@boosterclubs.org.

SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH |
InkBank
Cartridge Recycling Fundraising: Refuel
Your Booster Club With an Extra $5,000 to
$15,000 a Year.
NBCA
is pleased to put our fundraising spotlight
on the InkBank Fundraising Program. InkBank
was founded in 1997 by Booster Club volunteers,
as a no cost, nothing to buy, nothing to
sell fundraiser. Richard Zizian, founder
and CEO of InkBank, wanted a Booster Club
fundraiser that would provide a recurring
source of funds, with no investment, very
little work, and one that would not conflict
with any other fundraiser his booster club
was undertaking. Collecting and recycling
printer, fax and copier cartridges was the
answer. Today, InkBank’s Recycling
Fundraising System helps to support hundreds
of thousands of fundraising volunteers throughout
the United States and Canada.
With
just one person from your Booster Club,
to coordinate with InkBank, you can start
realizing over a $1,000 or more a month
by collecting and recycling cartridges within
your community. InkBank’s theme is
EARN MORE, WORK LESS. InkBank delivers an
entire recycling system to your Booster
Club at no cost. They provide everything
you need, including custom printed flyers
with your Club’s information on it,
recycling boxes, recycling bags, posters,
banners, flags and they even pay for all
of the shipping.
InkBank
is one of those rare fundraising opportunities
that everyone says “Yes” to
supporting. All you are asking your members
to do is spread the word at work, at home,
and throughout your community, that you
want their empty cartridges that were going
to be thrown in the trash! Everyone is willing
to support recycling, because it is financially
painless, good for our planet and it supports
the worthy causes of your Booster Club.
The
size of your club is also irrelevant. Some
of the smallest groups earn in excess of
$1,000 a month through cartridge recycling.
The popular inkjet cartridges are worth
from $1.00 to $3.50 each, and laser cartridge
have recycling values from $1.00 to $14.00
each. Just put your collected cartridges
in a box, use the free prepaid shipping
labels and Federal Express will come right
out to your home, office or club location
and pick up the cartridges free of charge.
InkBank sends out your recycling funds monthly.
To
learn more about cartridge recycling fundraising,
and the InkBank System, visit their website
and take their “5 MINUTE CRASH COURSE
ON CARTRIDGE RECYCLING”. It will be
well worth your while to do so. We are pleased
to spotlight such a creative fundraising
program, and one that is operated by people
who understand the challenges and needs
of Booster Clubs. NBCA is pleased to endorse
and recommend the InkBank Fundraising Program
to our members.

| DEAR
BOOSTER ..... |
| Dear
Booster,
I am a co-chair of our high school dance
line booster club. The booster club is in
its second year, last year's officers were
parents of graduating seniors, so we are
flying with little experience. The dance
team usually has 36 team members in each
of the two 'seasons', Fall and Winter. They
perform at home football games, and do other
performances in the Fall. Winter season
is all about competition with other high
school teams. Though our program is comparatively
young, only 5 years or so, the team went
to the State Competition last year in both
their events. They took 8th in High Kick
and 5th in Jazz Funk. So, that was extremely
exciting for everyone and I think will lead
to more parent support and participation
this year.
Our school district has experienced severe
cut backs in funds available for extra curricular
athletes. The district collects a 'participation
fee' from each athlete, but this money goes
into a fund that is distributed in such
a manner that we end up with next to nothing
compared to what the girls families must
contribute. So, fundraising is a huge priority
for us to be able to pay for our coaches
and the girl's costumes/uniforms. As fundraising
is the biggie is there any help you can
give us?
Steve L.
Maple Grove, Minnesota
Dear Steve,
Fundraising has unfortunately
become the #1 priority for all booster clubs
as funding from both the state and federal
level that support the numerous extra-curricular
programs has decreased by more than 30%
over the past 10 years. Combine this and
the sad financial situation that school
districts are facing and you have a situation
that practically mandates that booster clubs
fundraise to help cover expenses and needs.
Car
washes and candy bars can only go so far
and if your group really wants to put in
place a set of fundraiser's that will continue
to perform without the constant need of
door knocking you need to look for opportunities
that will create an ongoing flow of funds.
These can range from loyalty programs where
a supporter registers their merchant cards
and then creates a loyalty override each
time they shop at a participating merchant
to programs such as online malls where every
purchase generates a commission to your
group.
Finding
the right fundraising program to match your
groups needs and abilities is key. Please
visit the following fundraising
questionnaire that your group can fill
out and then send to one of our fundraising
coaches. They will help your group pick
out and then run the right fundraiser.
Send
us your Dear Booster.... article and we
will select one each month to share with
the readers of Booster Trends. To submit
your email send to: dearbooster@boosterclubs.org.
