Club
Fact |
| $2
Billion in Fundraising
Each
year secondary school clubs and teams will
undertake the raising of approximately $2
billion dollars to help support various
programs. From raising funds to attend camps,
covering costs for uniforms and just providing
for the ability to practice, clubs and teams
are being forced to take the responsibility
for a larger portion of the expenses associated
with their programs.
Whether
you have successfully conducted a fundraiser
in the past, or you have just decided to
pursue a fundraiser, we invite you to contact
one of the associations fundraising experts
for guidance and advise. |

In
the coming weeks many clubs will start gearing
back up in preparation for another year

be the first time leading an organization,
for others the last time.
In

I
want to personally invite and encourage

with your involvement it becomes a better

VENDOR SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH |
| Our
Spotlight of the Month is Village
Candle.
Village
Candles
has some of the most intriguing scents
around. Just Because, Angel Kiss and
Love Birds to name some. This is besides
the other scents of Jasmine, Lily
of the Valley, and French Vanilla
to name a few.
Their candles are not only long lasting
but beautiful. Their other products,
such as candleholders, lamps that
are lit by candles, Simmering pots
are very beautiful.
You pay for your merchandise when
you receive it. There is a sliding
scale for the amount you earn. It
gets greater as you sell more.
Have your club not only earn money
but sell things that smell good and
look great!
You
can check out these and other vendors
on BoosterWorld
or send me an email if you have any
questions: jevans@boosterclubs.org.

| DEAR
BOOSTER ..... |
Dear
Booster,
We recently decided that we needed to seek
some advice and help in deciding what fundraiser
would be best to help us achieve our goal
of raising enough money to allow our boys
to attend a 4 day tournament that happens
during the winter break. Because we didn't
realize that there was an organization for
booster clubs we contacted a local fundraising
company. The problem is that they want to
charge us an up front fee and a pretty large
percentage of the funds we raise for overseeing
the event. What alternatives do we have
and where can we go for help that won't
cost us an arm and a leg?
Peg D.
Cincinnati, OH
Dear Peg,
You should never have
to pay an organization an up front fee to
help you choose the best fundraiser for
your group. I suggest that unless you have
already entered into a contractual agreement
you let this organization know that you
no longer wish to work with them.
There
are close to 200 very reputable and honest
businesses who have become members of the
association, and who provide fundraising
solutions as their full-time business. Instead
of placing your club in a position where
you may very well end up worse than you
started, take a minute to fill out the associations
fundraising questionnaire and one of our
fundraising staff members will then help
direct you to a group of programs that will
help accomplish your goals.
Send
us your Dear Booster.... article and we
will select one each month to share with
the readers of Booster Trends. To submit
your email send to: dearbooster@boosterclubs.org.
